The Michael Bay-directed sequel Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen recently shot on location in Egypt.

Waxword reports that "Transformers II turned its cameras at the Pyramids in Egypt, and again in the upper Egyptian town of Luxor, near the famed Valley of the Kings. This is significant for many reasons but mainly because it represents a rare move by two Hollywood studios, Paramount and DreamWorks, to connect to a country and culture that is perceived to be hostile the United States."

Star Shia LeBeouf was reportedly on hand for the Egyptian stint of filming.

The site adds that the sequel "shot for several days, bringing together a crew of 150 Americans and several dozen local Egyptians for an effort that producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura, who called from a cellphone while standing beside the pyramids, told me was 'remarkably smooth.'"

Nicole Kidman says she never tells interviewers that she's happy, even when it comes to her marriage, because she never knows what tomorrow will bring.

Asked in the November issue of Interview magazine if she is happy with husband Keith Urban, Kidman replies, "I don't ever say that. Partly because interviews are done in advance and you never know where something's going. People's lives together are complicated and beautiful and that's what they should stay. They're very quiet. Salma Hayek and her businessman fiancé, François Henri Pinault, are the parents of a baby girl, Valentina Paloma Pinault.

"Mother and daughter are doing well," Hayek's publicist Cari Ross, said in a statement. No further details were released.

A source told PEOPLE that the 41-year-old Mexican-born actress entered the hospital on Thursday and that Pinault was present.

The daughter is the first child for Hayek. Pinault, 45, has two children from a previous marriage which ended in divorce in 2004.

The actress's pregnancy was first revealed in March, at the same time that the couple announced they were engaged to be married.

The pair had kept a relatively low profile since their relationship began – though Hayek joined Pinault, the CEO of luxury goods firm PPR (which owns Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent), for occasional public events, including one in the spring at the festivities surrounding the inauguration of the Pinault Foundation's Modern Art collection in Venice's Gritti Palace.

Besides carrying her child, Hayek has had her hands full on Ugly Betty, both as a guest star and as the executive producer of the Emmy-winning ABC show.

Speaking of Hayek, actor Michal Urie, who plays a conniving assistant on the series, told PEOPLE: "She knows how to take care – like we have a ton of producers, and she's really caring. She's like the matriarch of the producers. She's already motherly."

Another Ugly Betty star had equally glowing praise for Hayek. "She's a fighter, she's just lovely. She's like the salt of the earth and not pretentious one bit," Vanessa Williams said Emmy night. "And you get a little snippet of that when you see her character that she did a couple of episodes with, when she smacks America or Betty on the behind and she's that strong, forceful woman – she's a dynamo."

Alicia Silverstone has bared all in a sexy new advertisement for People for The Ethical Treatment of Animals, bursting back on to the scene after years in the publicity wilderness.

The advertisement — filmed in slow-motion — features Silverstone naked and dripping in water as she emerges from a swimming pool.

The camera revolves around the one-time Batgirl, teasing the viewer with carefully edited close ups of her glistening body.

In the most racy shot, Silverstone's arm covers her bust as she hauls herself out of the pool to an undulating soundtrack.

"I'm Alicia Silverstone, and I'm a vegetarian," she says over the clip.

"There's nothing in the world that's changed me as much as this."

"I feel so much better and I have so much energy. It's amazing."

The advertisement has been posted on peta.org, and is scheduled to begin screening in the US this week.

There is no word yet on whether it will be seen in Australia.

Hudgens splits with boyfriend after nude scandal

Hudgens, who was involved in a nude photo scandal earlier this month, split with boyfriend Efron while he was overseas, OK! magazine reported.

The mag said Hudgens was seen with another man at a Hollywood Hills party while Efron was in Australia to promote the movie Hairspray.

Eyewitesses told OK! magazine that Hudgens was "all over" her older date, and when someone asked her about Efron she "threw a fit".

Meanwhile, the Starpulse entertainment blog reported Hudgens is considering posing for a men's magazine - but has ruled out a spread in Playboy.

"I think being a woman and being able to show a sexy side is empowering," Starpulse reported Hudgens as saying.

"Being able to show we are comfortable in our skin is a good thing. I totally would pose for a sexy magazine. But not Playboy."

Earlier this month, a nude photo of Hudgens circulated widely on the internet.

Hudgens said she was "embarrassed" and regretted ever having taken the photos.

It is not yet known who leaked the photos.

Handler, 45, who played Harry Goldenblatt, the unlikely spouse of Charlotte York (Kristin Davis) for three seasons on the HBO hit, told PEOPLE at Saturday's pre-Emmy BAFTA and TV Academy tea party in the Hollywood Hills, "I'm looking forward to spending some weeks in New York. It should be fun."

The Manhattan-based movie – due to reunite Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Cynthia Nixon and Davis as they reprise the signature roles they played from 1998 to 2004 – is due to begin shooting this month, for a 2008 release.

"Harry doesn't feature that prominently," Handler laments of his character, who used to cavort about the couple's apartment in the buff, which at first rattled the uptight Charlotte. "So, I mean, I'm there, but it's their story."

Asked to reveal some of the secrets of the new storyline, such as how will the quartet pick up the action after such a lengthy break, Handler says, "I can't really answer it for the ladies. You know, that's going to be a problem."

Clearly, the canvas of the story is being expanded. Last week, it was reported that Dreamgirls Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson is in talks to join the movie's cast, in a role that wasn't on the TV show: assistant to Parker's character, the shoe-obsessed sex columnist Carrie Bradshaw.

Previously, the series' resident hunk, Chris Noth, told PEOPLE that he's busy getting back into shape to play Carrie's hard-to-hold lover, Mr. Big, in the screen version.

Handler – who in April begins shooting his second season on Showtime's series Californication, with David Duchovny – hinted that there may be other familiar characters returning for the movie, too.

"Myself and others, you know we haven't signed on officially yet, but yeah, I think everybody's onboard," he said. "We've all sort of knuckled under and agreed to terms in one way or another."

The Web site obtained copies of the star's sonogram, reportedly directly from the newlyweds.

The former Full House star, 25, recently married set designer Cody Herpin, 30, in a small Las Vegas ceremony in July. The pair tied the knot at the Little Church of the West in front of a few friends.

At the time, Sweetin raved about married life, telling PEOPLE, "Cody is my best friend. I married my best friend, and I couldn't ask for anything more. He's an unbelievable person."

She also revealed that the couple had plans to "have a bigger ceremony for family and friends."

Sweetin was previously married to a Los Angeles police officer.

Justin Timberlake’s hatred for reality TV became very apparent during Sunday’s MTV Video Music Awards when he repeatedly asked MTV to ditch reality TV and play more music videos.

The girls from The Hills — Lauren Conrad, Audrina Patridge, Whitney Port — were supposed to present Timberlake with Male Artist of the Year but after Lauren announced Justin as the winner, things got a little strange.

A fourth female mysteriously showed up on stage to join The Hills girls to hand the moon man to Timbaland, who in turn gave it to Justin. Justin did not give eye contact or thank any of the presenters, as most winners do.

“Play more dayum videos. We don’t want to see the Simpsons on reality television,” said Justin, referring to sisters Jessica and Ashlee Simpson. “Play more videos.”

And then when accepting the award for the Quadruple Threat Award, Justin reiterated, “I want to challenge MTV to play more videos.”

The doctors believe Aubrey is suffering from traumatic stress of the ordeal and she only needs a little time to recover her memory. Dakota begins to believe that she may be Aubreys identical twin. After weeks of buzz, Britney Spears kicked off Sunday's MTV Video Music Awards at the Palms in Las Vegas in a sparkly bra and briefs with a club-ready performance of her latest song "Gimme More."

The singer, who reportedly worked with illusionist Criss Angel on the act, lip-synched to the song as women cavorted on stripper poles amid a flashy red background. (Click here to see the performance.) The song comes in advance of Spears' as-yet-untitled record due in stores Nov. 13.

The pop star has a history of dramatic performances at the VMAs – including kissing Madonna and dancing with a live snake – but this year's performance seemed more low-key and certainly less eye-popping.

And at least one review was in almost immediately. Following Spears's performance, comedian Sarah Silverman offered her sarcastic take. "Was that incredible? Britney Spears, everyone," Silverman said. "Wow. She is amazing. She is 25-years-old and she's already accomplished everything she's going to accomplish in her life. It's mind blowing."

Later, backstage hip-hop star Akon offered his reaction to Spears's performance, telling PEOPLE: "That could have been better. She needed to focus more. She looked nervous and I think the pressure got to her."

Similarly, Common told PEOPLE about Spears: "I think it didn't seem like she wanted to be there. There wasn't any spark, it didn't feel like life was there."

Before the show, many artists weighed in on Spears's comeback. During MTV's official pre-show, Mary J. Blige wished the beleaguered pop star all the best. "I absolutely think Britney could make the comeback," Blige said on the telecast. "Someone who's been through as much as she's been through – you just want her to win. I know I want her to win."

At a Las Vegas press conference to announce plans to open his third 40/40 Club at the Palazzo hotel, the 37-year-old rapper - who has been dating the 26-year-old singer for over four years - confirmed they will tie the knot in the very near future.

Asked if they had set a date for the wedding, Jay-Z said: "One day soon - let's leave it at that."

The hip-hop mogul went on to hint he may even choose the Palazzo as the wedding venue, if the hotel's President Rob Goldstein buys Beyonce an expensive ring.

He joked: "I don't know if the wedding will be here. It's kind of comfortable. If Rob throws in the ring, who knows?"

Jay also revealed he is considering setting up home in Las Vegas.

The rap star's new $20 million, 24,000 sq ft club has floors made of 24-karat gold and platinum, 85 plasma TVs and five VIP rooms.

Disney's High School Musical star Vanessa Hudgens is speaking out after a nude photo of the actress hit the Internet on Thursday.

In a statement released Friday by her rep, Hudgens, 18, says: "I want to apologize to my fans, whose support and trust means the world to me. I am embarrassed over this situation and regret having ever taken these photos. I am thankful for the support of my family and friends."

On Thursday, a nude picture of Hudgens surfaced on multiple Web sites. The same day her rep issued a statement saying the photo "was taken privately. It is a personal matter and it is unfortunate that this has become public." Then on Friday, more candid photos of Hudgens (clothed, this time) began surfacing.

There has been no immediate comment from Disney. The studio was in talks to bring Hudgens (who is currently dating her HSM costar, Zac Efron) back for more HSM sequels.

A judge on Wednesday approved a $5,45,000 arbitration award to Jennifer Lopez in a lawsuit against her first husband, Ojani Noa, over his plans to publish a tell-all book.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michael C Solner also issued a permanent injunction barring Noa from publishing negative, denigrating or disparaging details about Lopez.

Solner approved the award, which was decided in April by a court-ordered arbitrator.

It includes $2,00,000 in damages, with the rest going for arbitration costs and attorney's fees.

The judge also directed Noa to give the actress-singer or her lawyer all copies of materials related to the book.

Noa and Lopez, 39, married in February 1997 and were divorced 11 months later.

Lopez's breach-of-contract lawsuit, filed in April 2006, accused Noa of violating a previous lawsuit settlement that prevented him from revealing private information about their relationship.

On Wednesday, Noa, who had been representing himself, asked for another 30 days to find a lawyer. When Solner denied his request, Noa objected.

"I think it's unfair, to be honest, your honor," he said.

"I'm sure you do," Solner replied.

Lopez's attorney, Paul N Sorrell, said a previous judge gave Noa chances to get a lawyer and he never did.

However, Sorrell declined to comment outside of court.

Noa's unpublished, ghostwritten book claims that during the time of their marriage Lopez had multiple affairs, including one with her third and current husband Marc Anthony, according to court documents.

Noa offered not to publish the book in return for $5 million, her lawsuit alleges.

In 2004, Noa sued Lopez for breach of contract, saying she lured him into taking a $1,000-a-week managerial job at her Pasadena restaurant, Madre's, then fired him five months later.

Noa settled the case for $1,25,000 in October 2005 and agreed not to disclose information about their relationship or disparage his ex-wife, according to court documents.
Lopez's suit claimed Noa's book plans breached that agreement.

Owen Wilson Skips Film Fest but 'Doing Well'

Owen Wilson canceled appearances at the Venice Film Festival but is "doing well" and "making us laugh a lot," says his longtime friend Wes Anderson.

"When he's ready he's going to speak for himself much better than anyone else could," Anderson told reporters in Venice on Sunday. "He has a very good way with words."

Wilson, 38, was hospitalized Aug. 26 after what a police log called an attempted suicide. He returned home over the weekend under close watch by family and friends.

Anderson was in Venice promoting the film he directed, The Darjeeling Limited, featuring Wilson with Adrien Brody and Jason Schwartzman as three brothers taking a train trip across India. Wilson originally was due to appear in Venice.

"I just want you to know how excited I am to have the film showing here," Anderson said at a press conference. "It means a great deal to me, and it also means a great deal to Owen, who wants me to express to you how much it means to him and to say that he wishes he could be with us."

Anderson added: "We all miss having him here very much. Obviously he's been through a lot this week but he's doing well and he's been making us laugh a lot."

The first Apprentice winner Bill Rancic married E! News anchor Giuliana DePandi on Saturday on the Italian island of Capri.
Rancic, 36, and the Napoli-born DePandi, 32, exchanged vows at the end of a church aisle strewn with white rose petals and dotted with white candles.

The couple, who got engaged last December, had a traditional Catholic ceremony, in both Italian and English, delivered by Rancic's family priest from his childhood growing up in the Chicago area.
"This is the real deal," says Rancic, who has attended church every Sunday with DePandi since the two became serious, "so we wanted a very old school, full Catholic mass."

DePandi wore a white, strapless and beaded Monique Lhuillier dress and veil especially designed for her, and Rancic wore a white tie and black tuxedo custom-tailored by the bride's father, who owns a high-end men's clothing store in Maryland.
DePandi's sister, Monica, was maid of honor and Rancic's "honorary" best man was his late father.

"I lost my father several years back and he's the honorary best man," says Rancic, "we'll have a candle up there as a tribute to him."
After the ceremony, the couple arranged for buses to take the 190 guests to Capri's center piazza, where dozens of Neapolitan dancers were to sing and dance alongside the guests as they walked in a group, led by the bride and groom, to the reception at the Grand Hotel Quisisana.

The menu included local Southern Italian fare – prosciutto and two pasta dishes – followed by a vanilla and cream wedding cake decorated with red rose petals flown in from Holland.
Missing in action at the wedding was Rancic's former boss, Donald Trump. "His schedule didn't allow it," says Rancic.

As for the honeymoon, the couple will have to wait.
"We both have to get back to work," says DePandi, who will be covering the Emmys on Sept. 16. And Rancic begins work next month as the new host of In The Loop with IVillage on NBC.

Backstreet Boys Back, 'No Hard Feelings' Toward Kevin

Their new single "Inconsolable" hits radio this month (hear it below), but it doesn't describe how the Backstreet Boys felt when Kevin Richardson told them during a conference call last year that he was sitting out their sixth album, due Oct. 30.

Despite feeling "kind of a shock," at first, says Nick Carter, "everyone understood. There were no hard feelings and that's just the way it needs to be. We've been through a lot in 14 years together, and there's no need to get angry or overly emotional."

In fact, the group – Carter, Howie Dorough, Brian Littrell and AJ McClean – still talk to Richardson, whose wife Kristin gave birth to son Mason in July.

"I just saw Kevin a couple days ago," says Dorough. "He's got a glow that is unbelievable, and I'm happy for him. And he's happy for us as well – he's not bitter. He's totally like, 'I want you guys to do your thing and not have weirdness.' "

The as-yet untitled new album features the usual Backstreet Boys fare that fans expect, says Carter: "Dance tracks, poppy rock songs, really beautiful ballads and R&B vocals. We're being what we are and have been for years. There are no catches. We just want to cater to the fans."

As the former boy-banders promote the new CD, Carter, 27, also will be showing off a new, trimmer physique. "I lost more than 40 pounds," says the singer, who worked out one hour a day, five days a week for six months to slim down from 223 pounds.

Carter says he put the weight on because he was depressed. "With my show The House of Carters, it was a shock to me to realize what my family had gone through. After so many years of dysfunction and my parents finally getting divorced and everybody being lost and me being the oldest, there was a lot of stress, a lot of pressure," he says.

"So I finally concentrated on my health, even went to some therapy. They say it starts on the inside. And it's nice when people look at you and think, 'Wow, he got his stuff together.' "

Between promotional trips for his family's Dorough Lupus Foundation (founded in honor of his late sister), Howie D, 33, has been in the studio working on his first solo album. "A kind of Latin/English thing," says Dorough, who just recorded nine demo songs with Jon Secada in Miami. "It's kind of Spanglish, kind of Latin with a little bit of a samba vibe."

But don't expect his first solo effort – or the second Christian album that Brian Littrell, 32, is working on – to derail the band that made them famous.

Promises Dorough: "Backstreet Boys comes first." Adds Carter: "This album is definitely going to be a little different when there's only four of us, but the door's always open for Kevin whenever he wants to come back."

Want a handful of Tim McGraw? Be prepared for an earful from wife Faith Hill.

At a stop on the couple's Soul2Soul tour Saturday at the Cajundome in Lafayette, La., a female fan grabbed McGraw in the crotch area as he walked between a barricade and the stage to greet fans.

Hill was not pleased: The country star chastised the fan, and a video clip of the incident briefly hit YouTube and several other sites on Monday before being taken down.

"Somebody needs to teach you some class, my friend," she tells the fan. "You don't go grabbin' somebody else's, somebody's husband's [private parts], you understand me? That's very disrespectful."

Hill's rep, Paul Freundlich, confirmed to PEOPLE that the fan had grabbed McGraw. Freundlich said Hill declined to elaborate.

"Faith dealt with the situation on the spot and said all that needed to be said from the stage," he said.

The film begins with Green Day hosting a concert at Lake Springfield. When they finish their song they talk about the environment, angering the audience, who throw garbage at them polluting the lake and causing their barge to dissolve and sink, killing them. The next day at church, Grampa is possessed by God warns the city of a future disaster. Marge believes Grampa's prediction, and decides to work out the meaning of the message. Meanwhile, Lisa starts to talk about the environment, with no success. She encounters Colin, an Irish boy who shares the same passions as her. Homer and Bart are repairing the roof when they decide to have a dare contest. Homer dares Bart to skateboard to Krusty Burger naked, which Bart obliges causing him to become stuck naked on the window of the building. After he is apprehended by the police, Homer turns up and they decide to order a meal. Inside the restuarant, Ned Flanders helps Bart out and understands his feelings which begins a relationship and mutual respect between the two, meanwhile Krusty is filming a commercial. When recording finishes Krusty orders for the pig he is using in the commercial to be slaughtered, causing it to flee to Homer who adopts him. That evening Lisa holds a conference at city hall and explains that the town lake cannot sustain anymore pollution. Mayor Quimby declares a state of emergency and orders the cleansing and protection of Lake Springfield.Marge asks Homer where "Spider-Pig's/Harry Plopper's" waste is going. Homer shows her an overflowing silo, horrifying Marge who tells Homer to dispose of it safely. While waiting in a queue at the dump Homer is told by Lenny that Lard Lad Donuts has been shut down and that they are giving away free donuts. Homer, in his haste to get to the giveaway decides on a quicker means of disposal and dumps the silo into the lake, causing it to become heavily polluted. A nearby squirrel jumps into it and becomes severely mutated, with many eyes. Nearby, Bart and Ned are hiking up a hill when they discover the squirrel who is immediately captured by the EPA. At the White House, the contained squirrel is brought before President Arnold Schwarzenegger by Russ Cargill, head of the EPA. He states that Springfield has become so polluted that the government must take drastic action and proposes five different solutions. The President picks plan 3 at random, choosing to not even read them, which leads to a giant glass dome being placed over Springfield. Cargill then tells the town that Springfield is now the most polluted city on the Earth and that the government has decided to contain it. Next day, Maggie falls through a sinkhole in her sandbox and emerges outside the dome, before returning. The police reveal that Homer polluted the lake and an angry mob approaches the Simpson's house and torches it. The family escape through the sink hole, which expands destroying their house. The family flee, and whilst hiding in a dilapidated motel Homer reveals that he has always kept a backup plan in the event that they are run out of town. He proposes that the entire family move to Alaska, a plan that Marge agrees to. The next day the family attend a carnival where Homer enters the "Ball of Death" challenge, a spherical cage in which he must ride a motorcycle around in a full horizontal circle. He wins a truck and the family move to Alaska, and begin to enjoy their new life.

Pentas Ikon Malaysia yang berlangsung di Pusat Konvensyen Antarabangsa Putrajaya (PICC) menyaksikan persaingan sengit kerana saya kira semua calon akhir mempersembahkan yang sebaik mungkin. Sekali sekala melihat persediaan yang begitu gah dari kumpulan Flop Poppy yang mengenakan pelbagai gaya pakaian dan menggunakan band iringan. Siap dengan trompet dan perkusi. Tetapi mungkin rezeki tidak berpihak pada Flop Poppy. Keunikan dan kelainan muzik rock dari OAG pernah menarik minat juri di AIM. Penampilan mereka santai dengan bersongkok dan berpakaian kasual. Suara Dayang Nurfaizah ada sedikit pecah di beberapa bahagian. Mawi yang tampil dengan kelincahan, gimik silap mata dan vokal yang mantap di pentas masih tidak mampu untuk melawan pukulan vokal yang cemerlang dari Jaclyn Victor.

Jacklyn Victor & OAG membawa pulang wang tunai sebanyak USD 2,500 (RM 8,550) serta sebuah trofi yang telah disampaikan oleh Pengarah Urusan Kumpulan Ikon Media, Richard Voon. Tahniah sekali lagi kepada semua pemenang. Bertemu lagi di Ikon peringkat Asean pada 12 Ogos 2007 di mana Jac & OAG akan dicabar dengan juara IKON Indonesia dan IKON Filipina bagi kategori masing-masing.

1408 - Synopsis
1408 is a 2007 film based on the Stephen King short story of the same name. Swedish film director Mikael Håfström is the director. The cast includes John Cusack, Samuel L. Jackson and Mary McCormack. The film was released in the US on June 22, 2007, although July 13th is mentioned as the release date in the trailer posted on the website. The film has been rated PG-13 for thematic material including disturbing sequences of violence and terror, frightening images, and language.

Mike Enslin (Cusack) is a skeptic and writer, authoring books debunking supernatural occurrences. After completing research for his next book, Mike receives an anonymous postcard of the Dolphin Hotel, bearing the message “don’t enter 1408.” Viewing this as a challenge, Enslin attempts to book a reservation in room 1408, only to discover that no matter what date he requests the room is “not available.” However, after Mike’s agent Sam Farrel (Shalhoub) and his in-house lawyer find that the Fair Housing Act requires hotels to rent unoccupied rooms, the Dolphin gives Mike a reservation for room 1408.

Arriving at the Dolphin, Mike is pulled aside by the hotel’s manager, Gerald Olin (Jackson). Olin warns Mike that no one has lasted more than an hour in 1408 and urges him not to stay in the room, offering an upgrade to the penthouse suite, access to documents regarding the 56 deaths which have occurred in 1408, and an $800 bottle of vintage 1939 “Les Cinquante Sept Deces” (”The 57 deaths”) cognac. Despite accepting the documents and the cognac, Mike insists on staying in the room; Olin reluctantly gives him the key, escorts him to the 14th floor but refuses to leave the elevator, leaving Mike to lead himself to 1408.

Beckhams Settle into L.A. Family Life

Despite the frenzy that greeted their arrival from Britain on Thursday, the weekend was anything but quiet for David and Victoria Beckham as they and their brood settled into their new Beverly Hills home.

Friday evening, the Beckhams hosted a small housewarming for friends. Saturday brought another typically American activity: piling into the family car (in this case, a limited-edition Bentley convertible) and shopping at Toys "R" Us, where the couple's three sons – Brooklyn, 8, Romeo, 4 and Cruz, 2 – were the recipients of about $5,000 worth of merchandise purchased by their parents.

Causing commotion among other customers in the La Cienega Boulevard branch, the Beckhams spent a lot of time perusing board games. Still, their final choices included Legos, electronics, bikes and a small American flag, which Cruz waved as the family departed. Later that evening mom and dad had dinner with their manager, American Idol's Simon Fuller, on the patio of the Chateau Marmont.

On Sunday, David took an afternoon drive to his new home stadium, the Home Depot Center in Carson (just south of L.A.), making a stop at the region's preferred java chain, the Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf.

Victoria has also taken time to introduce herself to America through the media, talking about everything from her dry sense of humor to her surprise at the casual nature of L.A. style.

"They dress down quite a lot here, don't they?" she tells the Los Angeles Times. "It seems to be in keeping to go to Starbucks in tracksuit bottoms and Ugg boots."

Not that she will follow suit: "I don't want to change the way I dress," she says. "This is me, and if people like it, great."

Despite her often-severe look, she does have a relaxed side to her, she assures Parade magazine.

"I don't take myself too seriously. I enjoy sending myself up," she says. "I'm just hoping people do get it and don't truly think that I do sunbathe in high heels and a bikini and a full face of makeup."

Kicking off the work week. David begins to prepare in earnest for his opening match with the L.A. Galaxy against London team Chelsea on Saturday – while Monday night brings the NBC special Victoria Beckham: Coming to America, (8 p.m. ET).

At a young age, Anggun decided to follow in her father, Darto Singo’s footsteps, and become an entertainer. During her early years, she was influenced by rock sounds of native Javanese artists and the rock & roll icon, Elvis Presley. She was educated in Catholic schools because her father wanted Anggun to have a high quality education, although she is a Muslim. Her first French album, Au Nom de la Lune (titled Anggun for Indonesia and Japanese market and Snow On The Sahara in other 13 countries including the US) not only skyrocketed Anggun to fame in France, the album was also a major hit in her native country, Indonesia. Her second album Desirs Contraires (Chrysalis in foreign and US markets) proved to be a worldwide hit as well.

In 1998, Anggun toured in Lilith Fair with Sarah McLachlan and other female musicians. In 2000, Anggun received an invitation from the Vatican asking her to perform at a Christmas concert where she sang her rendition of “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas” for the Pope, John Paul II. Singers Dayang Nurfaizah Awang Dowty and Malaysian Idol winner Jaclyn Victor will battle it out in the Ikon Malaysia singing competition on July 28. They will be joined by OAG and Flop Poppy in the group category, organisers of the show announced yesterday.

Two wildcard entries among the losing semi-finalists will be decided via SMS on July 18 to make it a six-contestant final.

The solo and group winners will represent Malaysia to compete against artistes from Indonesia and the Philippines in the Ikon Asean finals on Aug 12.

Ikon Malaysia champion will receive US$2,500 (RM8,500) while the winner of the regional contest will take home US$25,000.

Last month, the actress came under fire for carrying a bag bearing the political slogan of Chinese Communist leader Mao Zedong in Peru.

The voice 34-year-old visited the Incan city of Machu Picchu carrying an olive green bag emblazoned with a red star and the words "Serve the People" printed in Chinese.

The bags are considered a fashion accessory in some parts of the world, but in Peru it is a reminder of the Maoist Shining Path insurgency that fought the government in the 80s and early 90s in a bloody conflict killing almost 70,000 people.

Cameron said afterwards: "I sincerely apologies to anyone I may have inadvertently offended."
