Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

Transformers 2 in Egypt
The Michael Bay-directed sequel Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen recently shot on location in Egypt.

Waxword reports that "Transformers II turned its cameras at the Pyramids in Egypt, and again in the upper Egyptian town of Luxor, near the famed Valley of the Kings. This is significant for many reasons but mainly because it represents a rare move by two Hollywood studios, Paramount and DreamWorks, to connect to a country and culture that is perceived to be hostile the United States."

Star Shia LeBeouf was reportedly on hand for the Egyptian stint of filming.

The site adds that the sequel "shot for several days, bringing together a crew of 150 Americans and several dozen local Egyptians for an effort that producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura, who called from a cellphone while standing beside the pyramids, told me was 'remarkably smooth.'"

Bangkok Dangerous

Bangkok Dangerous - 2008 M0vie Summary
Nicolas Cage sleep-walks through his role as Joe, a world-weary, loner assassin who heads to Thailand to perform the textbook "one last job." As an English-speaking white man in Bangkok, Joe finds himself the proverbial fish out of water. His mission is to carry out a handful of contract killings on behalf of crimelord Surat, after which he will retire. As almost every other hitman movie has taught us, nothing ever goes according to plan for an assassin.

Joe hires a petty street criminal named Kong (Shahkrit Yamnarm) to assist him -- and to cover his own tracks. Joe eventually takes a shine to Kong and becomes his mentor. Meanwhile, Joe also finds himself falling for a local woman, the mute pharmacist Fon (Charlie Yeung). But danger is closing in on Joe and he finds his newfound relationships threatened by his deadly line of work.

Rachel Bilson pairs with DKNY Denim

High fashion must be scraping the bottom of the barrel. DKNY is trying to get into the celeb marketing game - and they’ve picked Rachel Bilson to be their girl. Rachel is of course gorgeous is that cute little girl next door way, but I’ve never seen her as a fashion icon. Her choices are somewhat basic at best, more often than not.

Not only will she be used to sell the label, she’ll actually be creating her own line of denim for the company. I guess jeans aren’t a bad thing for this casual OC girl to be doing, since she wears a lot of them. The line will be called “Edie Rose,” named after two women who inspired by Bilson while she was growing up, and will kick off this September. The line will feather a 15-piece collection of sporty jackets, sweaters, T-shirts, coats, dresses and skinny and straight-leg jeans.

Bilson, 26, best known for her leading roles in “The O.C.” and the current film “Jumper,” joins an array of fashion-hungry celebrities who are entering the fray, including rocker Avril Lavigne, who signed a deal with Kohl’s last week (the store is also said to be in talks with singer Vanessa Carlton for a jewelry line) and Nicole Richie, who is planning to do a maternity collection and a costume jewelry line. And industry executives claim more are in the pipeline

Red Carpet Rewind: Hard-to-believe Hollywood hookups

Little-known Cameron Diaz romantic history factoid: She briefly dated actor Ed Norton in 1999. How briefly? This may have been one of their only dates, sipping the bubbly at a Tommy Hilfiger party. Diaz has high standards for dates (who have recently included musician John Mayer and magician Criss Angel): They've got to be breathing.

American Gangster

American Gangster - 2007 Movie Synopsis
Nobody used to notice Frank Lucas (Denzel Washington), the quiet driver to one of the inner city's leading black crime bosses. But when his boss suddenly dies, Frank exploits the opening in the power structure to build his own empire and create his own version of the American Dream. Through ingenuity and a strict business ethic, he comes to rule the inner-city drug trade, flooding the streets with a purer product at a better price. Lucas outplays all of the leading crime syndicates and becomes not only one of the city's mainline corrupters, but part of its circle of legit civic superstars.

Richie Roberts (Russell Crowe) is an outcast cop close enough to the streets to feel a shift of control in the drug underworld. Roberts believes someone is climbing the rungs above the known Mafia families and starts to suspect that a black power player has come from nowhere to dominate the scene. Both Lucas and Roberts share a rigorous ethical code that sets them apart from their own colleagues, making them lone figures on opposite sides of the law. The destinies of these two men will become intertwined as they approach a confrontation where only one of them can come out on top.
